WHERE do students go to speak French, meet other French students and French visitors? Pi Delta Phi, the National French Honor Society's chapter at FAU, is open to all French students in good standing and is resuming meetings in Fall 1999. Future plans include a mini-festival of films, plus an essay competition with awards up to 1500 FF ($200+). For information on Pi Delta Phi, contact Professor Shaktini. Also, FACS (Florida Atlantic Comparative Studies) is a scholarly journal created by students in the department. FACS is a hub of volunteer student writers, editors, graphic designers, proofreaders, general gophers. Contact grad student editor Giada Biasetti at facs@cse.fau.edu.

Study Abroad: University Affiliations

FAU French Studies has a variety of official and informal affiliations with overseas campuses in France and the francophone countries of the world. Most are exclusively French-language universities and colleges, although it is possible for beginning students to arrange additional course work abroad in English for transfer credit, as appropriate. Students interested in study abroad should begin by conferring with a faculty advisor. For a particular francophone country, also consult the extensive listing of University affiliations in the office of International Programs, SU 106.
